Walmart Canada overcomes perception and awareness challenges by making its message heard in convincing fashion.

Despite the fact that Walmart Canada had been consistently ranked as one of the country’s best employers and most respected corporations, it had some serious reputational issues to contend with. Being a member of the world’s largest retailer made Walmart Canada an easy target. The company needed to make its own story clear to stakeholders.
In 2008 the company produced its first full corporate social responsibility - detailing Walmart Canada’s commitment to operating in an ethical, responsible and sustainable way while including for the first time key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track Walmart’s progress on a number of fronts: environment, people, global sourcing and community. Walmart Canada’s CSR now enables the company to tell its full story with greater transparency and to continually measure, observe and analyze its CSR performance year over year.

Walmart Pharmacy Rebrand
Looking to increase recognition of its pharmacy offering, Walmart approached Ove to develop a new brand identity that would raise the prominence of the Walmart pharmacist, both in terms of brand visibility within the store environment as well as the role that the pharmacist plays as a valued health partner. Along with the new identity, we introduced a tagline, “Just ask”, that positions the Walmart pharmacist as a helpful, knowledgeable resource for health and medication advice, and to prompt customers to engage in dialogue with the pharmacist in-store.
